I spent the day outside of Toronto shooting images for a story for The Globe and Mail on a medical study that is researching the physical benefits of off road sports. Honda is a sponsor of the York University study, so there were a lot of good toys on site. Here’s an outtake from the shoot, I’ll be posting the full story after publication next week.

I’m planning on creating a rotating timelapse piece of Toronto for The Globe and Mail’s multimedia department. I’ve been scouting locations and vantage points this week. While the CN Tower was my first choice, I’m now considering the downtown bank buildings as alternatives that would allow me to track the sun across the sky.

I covered Edgefest for The Globe and Mail yesterday. Some pretty bad weather – I was kitted out in rain boots, a raincoat, and my cameras completed wrapped. A great crowd to shoot though. Here are some of my favourite images from the show.

Last night was the gallery opening and book launch for the Show Your Ontario Photography Contest at Lennox Contemporary Gallery in Toronto. The contest was spearheaded by the Magenta Foundation, and took place over the course of a year. I’m happy to say I was the Grand Prize Winner of the competition that asked Photographers to document Ontario. Below is an image from the opening, and a photograph I took included in the book.

This week I started a contract with The Globe and Mail as a Photographer. I’m excited to be working with a very talented Photo Department. I’m really looking forward to pushing several personal projects, both stills and motion, through the newspaper and online. Below is the view from my workstation at the Globe’s Toronto offices.
